BIRD MIGRATION, HAWK RIDGE, DULUTH

Every year, thousands of bird lovers from around the globe make the pilgrimage to Duluth, Mn,  where Hawk Ridge Observatory is located.   Not only will you experience exceptional fall foliage while on the ridge, but you will also see many types of birds as they migrate.  In 2014 the August-December season volunteers counted 3,869 raptors (hawks and owls) .  So far this year, over 150,000 non-raptors have already been counted and over 968 raptors were counted in August.    We hope you will stay with us at Cotton Mansion during your Duluth stay and take time to view this amazing migration.
